Introduction:
Pakistan is the
reward of Allah. It includes greenery, mountains, hill stations, historical
buildings, four seasons, rippling waterfalls, oceans, minerals, and lakes, etc.
There are about 60 lakes in Pakistan. They are famous for their beautiful
features and natural beauty. This groundwater works to replenish water and
preserve the biodiversity of the area. Lakes are capable of storing water on a
large scale.
Rama Lake:
At the top of the Astor valley, surrounded by Oak trees and groves,
Lake Rama attracts shimmering tourists in all its splendor. On the way from
Astor valley to this lake. Three small lakes that dazzle the eye which the
people their call Sarot in the language. Juniper trees in this valley enhance
their usefulness. There are also a series of dense forests. It is about 3300
meters above sea level. As you continue your journey east of this valley, Nanga
Parbat, the eighth highest mountain in the world, is shining brightly.
Lake Rama is near Astor village. After 20 min drive from the Fairy
Meadows, turn right and take another 3 hours to enter the village. It is famous
for farewell camping. The valley was a tehsil of Diamir district (2004). Today,
this valley has been upgraded to a district. There are 50 small villages in
this valley, some of which are as follows:
- Chalum.
- Yobian.
- Gorikot.
- Eidgah.
- Chongrah.
- Pari Shing.
Kurumbar Lake:
The area from Mastuj to Kishmanja includes the Yarkhun valley. If you continue your trip beyond this, you will come to Broghil Valley which continues till Karomber Pass. Both of these valleys are part of Chitral. After the Karomber Pass is a beautiful heart-wrenching series of lakes and finally this valley which flows into the flowing Ishkomen Valley. If you want to explore Karomber lake, you must first go to Mastuj and get a NOC from DC Chitral and Chitral Scouts Head Quarters. June and September, the scenic views of the (Broghil Valley) Karomber lake, are seen chirping through the clouds.
Shutargardan is a path on a slope under which the river flows. Only
one foot stands in the river water. Tourists arrive at this site after trekking
on the glacier for two hours. This journey is impossible without a guide.
Precautions must be taken and hire a local tour operator for this.
There will be no worries about managing jeeps, porters, foods, cock, and Mules.
The largest lake in South Asia is Manchar lake in Pakistan. It has a huge water storage capacity and is a natural freshwater lake. The stationed of this lake in the Jamshoro district of the Indus River. Before Jamshoro became a district, it was in Dadu district. Jamshoro separated from Dadu district in December 2004.
Katora Lake:
Melting
glaciers accumulate water in this lake. Katura is a Phasto word. It means
bowl-like. The Kumrat valley besets at the higher level of the Jahaz Banda
Meadows in the upper Dir Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It is also called Jaz
Dand.
It is about
11,500 feet above sea level. Its canopy with ancient flowers and snow-capped
mountains. The open mouth of the lake spreads in the form of attractive foamy
waterfalls.
Lulusar Lake:
It is the main
headquarters of the Kunhar River. It flows southwest. It flows toward the
southwest of Kagan valley and passes through Naran, Balakot, Paras, Kaghan,
Jared joins the river Jhelum. It’s located about 50 km from Naran. It takes a
jeep to get there. War of Independence in 1857, history shows that 55 people
had taken as a prisoner from this place.
Ratti Gali
Lake:
Alpine ice
glacier Rati Gali Lake Neelam Valley is located in Azad Kashmir. If you want to
enjoy the views of this lake, hire a jeep from Dowarian in Neelam Valley. After
a 2-hour trek from the base campus, you will cover the distance. Tourists can
easily rent horses and enjoy this journey.
The name of the
word Rata is Red in the local language. On the right side of the lake is a
painting of Queen Victoria on the surface painted with icy snow.
Swaik Lake
(Khandowa Lake):
When you travel
towards Chakwal District of Punjab Province of Pakistan. We will visit the lake
at Kallar kahar Tehsil. It is called Lake Swaik. It’s located about 10 km
southwest of Kallar Kahar and 48 km southwest of Chakwal along the M2 motorway.
The waterfall that is 100 feet high attracts tourists. It is a natural waterfall covered with rocks
and mountains. Its water contains crystals which are rare in this region.
A closer look
at the lake reveals that it has a mystical shape. This place is very suitable
for trekking as well as camping. Swimming enthusiasts can fulfil their passion
by getting a life jacket from here. Tourists can enjoy a BBQ by the lake. The
alternative name of this lake is blue water. It is located at an altitude of
1500 feet above sea level and covers an area of 8 km. Its depth is 4-5 feet.
This lake is famous for Babri and beautiful peacocks. It’s surrounded by
natural gardens that are full of colorful flowers and plants.
History shows
that the famous Mughal Emperor Zaheer-ud-Din Babar encamped at Kallar Kahar
with his army. When he was marching from Kabul to attack Delhi with his troops.
He addressed his forces during his stay at this place that is known as
Takht-e-Babri. These are still present in Kallar Kahar today. He called this place of natural beauty.
Rush Lake:
Pakistan's
highest and world's highest Rush Lake occupying near Pari Peak. It's situated
approximately 15 km north of Miar Peak and Spantik (Golden Peak) in Wadi Nagar.
Those who love adventure should go for a walk on the lake.
Satpara Lake:
This natural
lake supplies water to the Skardu Valley. The water enters it from the Satpara
stream. The Satpara dam is located about 4 km Skardu on the Gilgit-Baltistan
side of Pakistan, just below lake Satpara. It is 8,650 feet above sea level and
covers an area of 2.5 km.
The Satpara lake originates in the plains of Deosai. In the middle
of the lake is a small island that adds four moons to its beauty. Those who are
interested in fishing must visit this lake. There are provide boating and
rowing facilities.
The area of the
lake has increased due to the presence of the dam. Skardu Valley supplies about 3.1 million
gallons of drinking water daily and irrigates 15,536 acres. It can generate
17.36 MW of hydropower. About 30,000 homes in the valley provide electricity.
